Ok so the rooster I have was given to me by my father-in-law. Every since I got him (maybe 2 months ago) I felt like he was sick. He just seemed to walk slow and he wouldn't stand straight and proud like a typical rooster. He looks full grown but I have never heard him crow. Then a week into having him I saw that he couldn't open his eye but after a few days he was back to normal. The chickens seem to bully him and he finally started to follow the chickens around. His tail feathers seem limp and he just doesn't look right. Anyway thats just some background on him. Well now he has like cough or something because he's making weird noises. I went to 2 feed stores looking for medicine but they both said they didn't carry any. My father in law wants us to put him down, my husband doesn't want to bring him indoors because of the baby and I just feel bad for the poor thing. What can I do for him? A man at the feed store said maybe he just has a rock stuck in his throat but I just think it's something else. Please help. I have never had to deal with a sick chicken/rooster.
