Sick rooster......please help: Pic's added

And how do you keep the hens from eating the roo food? or vice versa?

barnyard, maybe your boy had a migraine from all the funky weather we've been having. I know my head was hanging low Monday, and my ears were popping on Tuesday & Wednesday!

I'd leave him be if he looks better. I'd be worried about stressing him out. Although molasses itself is fairly harmless. Maybe make him a sweet bowl of oatmeal to help him recover? Or put some on plain rice or noodle left-overs for a treat?

Tiffany, glad to hear he is doing better. I would not do the molasses now that he seems better. It very well could have been the vitamins or dehydration. I would keep him on the vit & elec for another day to make sure he doesn't relapse.

I have heard alote of talk about gamebird food making roo's aggressive. Is there any truth to this? I sure don't want him to turn out mean.

Thanks Buster!!!

I fed everyone a kind of feed called rooster booster when they were young and my silkies weren't feathering in very pretty. I didn't think it made anyone mean.

I've actually been thinking about getting some again to use as treat food for everyone on the days when we don't have any leftovers for the chickers...
