My rooster is ill and I'm not sure what to do.
Yesterday I noticed he wasn't with the hens as he usually is. I found him by himself in a secluded spot under some trees. He is looking really unwell. He is moving slowly, not eating, and seems to be having trouble breathing ( his chest is heaving ) . I took him to the vet a few weeks ago as he was stumbling when walking and losing balance. The vet checked him and couldn't find any obvious ailment, he gave him a shot of antibiotics. He improved but was still limping.
His eyes are also not right. His right eye was completely closed when I let them all out of the coop this morning.
I'm not sure how old he is as he was in residence when we purchased our property about 3 years ago.
I hope someone can help me !!! He is a lovely boy and I hate seeing him suffer. Vicki.
