Sick rooster was covered in mites / gasping ?

How is he doing now?

I'd work on hydration.
If you have chicken feed like chick starter or all flock, I would offer him some of that. Scrambled egg or a little beef liver to help build him back up would be good to give as well.

So I went to the store and bought him crumbled chicken feed and added water and he is gobbling it all up and holding his head up on his own now and no more gasping for air - he can’t stand up tho!
Eating LOADS of juicy wet tomatoes and crumbled corn and I dip his beak into the water a lot throughout the day
Going back to TSC to find the poultry mites spray - can’t find it anywhere today
He looks so lively today - but can’t stand at all 😔 but very perky

Where can I get beef liver ?

You can probably find permethrin dust at your TSC. This would be good to use. Put a little in a sock, then bob the sock over him like a powder puff, working the dust into the feathers down to the skin. Make sure to get around his vent, under the wings, etc. I'd take him outside to dust him, so there's plenty of ventilation.

If you are giving him corn, then he will need grit (crushed granite) in order to process that. Provide him a little free choice.

You can usually find liver at the grocery store.

Do you have photos of his legs? Any signs of injury to the legs, scabbing or swollen joints?

I have the dust - bought it today as a back up

I will do your sock suggestion in the AM outside - amazing idea !!

I’ll buy the grit at TSC tomorrow too then

I can take pictures in the AM and post them as he is fast asleep right now

No swollen or injury - very dry looking tho - but he is just so bone thin and no meat to his body, poor thing

I hope I can help resurrect him 😩

Take it slow.
I know he's wanting to eat it seems, but see that he's drinking very well, you don't want his crop to become impacted.

Poor guy! I'm glad you were able to bring him home and show him love and kindness. I hope he recovers too.
Keep us posted.
