So I have a 16 week old olive hen who is frikkin tiny! I mean like a quarter the size of the rest of her flock and there all the same age. She's always been a little more scared than the others and this morning I found her mid day still in the nest and not moving even when I reached for her witch is not normal cause like I said she's afraid. When I picked her up she felt limp and wasn't squirming. She was alive and breathing but very slowly and she could not stand on her feet without me holding her up. When she did kinda stand she had both wings down like they were her crutches. So I brought her inside and she's in a cage in my living room. She won't eat or drink, can't get up by herself, I believe nothing is broken and I don't see any injuries, maybe a little feather loss. She's got dark and lime green runny poos. She's basically just sleeping. I force fed her some water and chick starter mush with a syringe witch seemed to perk her up for a little but while I was feeding her she was just laying on her back not fussing or anything. Only movement she made was like wigglin her head outa my fingers trying to pry her beak open. I also noticed when she is helped standing up I have to hold up her chest and if I let her go she will completely face plant! It scared me so bad! Poor thing face planted so hard into the food bowl ): I don't know what to do.

Remember she's also the runt like super frikkin small...maybe she just has some disabilities since she didn't grow as much or something? She does love to be in her nest box and I just figured she'd be a broody one.
Any suggestions on what I can do will help or what might be wrong with her. Thank you

She's small enough that I can pick her up with one hand

x 2 Kelsie's advice - please post in detail, all symptoms, how long she has been this way etc. A photo showing how she is most of the day would be of use also. She may be tiny because others have kept her away from the feeding bowl or may even just be a bantam .

You could try giving her Polyvisol infant vitamin drops (NO IRON) 3 drops 3 times a day - it may give her a boost. You could put it on something she eats, or put drops just inside her beak so she can choose to swallow or push it out.

Have you tried getting her to eat finely mashed hard boiled egg yolk, moistened with some plain yogurt. Does she seem to have any wounds or injuries? She may be been stomped on by other birds.

Hope someone will be able to diagnose her problem and suggest treatments.

Sounds like you need to up some protein, niacin, vitamin B-3 and all of that is in an egg so boil up some egg's and feed her one in the morning and one in the evening and after a week see if it has made a difference

She's defenitly not a bantam. I've been making some chick grower mush with water to feed her. She actually seems to slowly be geting better. I noticed she had made her way across the cage over the course of last night so she can get to her food and water witch is good. I'll make her some scrambled eggs and see if she improves. Fingers crossed

Diva Drumstick x2. Try the boiled egg or (with) yogert. she may need the vitamins that these have to get her pepped up. give here plenty of water. I'd keep her away from the other hens for a while until she is back on her feet and can defend herself.

She actually getting better!! She can get up and walk a few steps toget to get food and water so hopefully she keep setting stronger and improving! Yay Petunias gonna survive!!!!
