I have a similar problem with my turkeys and was wondering if someone could answer a few questions. I have 10 turkeys that are 12 weeks old. About a month ago, some of them started"sneezing" although my husband says they are Toms "thumping", but I say otherwise. Anyway, 1 by 1, they are becoming listless and frail looking. They also seem much smaller than the others. 1 has already died and now I have 4 more that are sneezing. 1 is very small (you could easlily pick it out of the flock) and weak. They seem to be struggling with breathing (always have their mouths open - & it's cool out) and you can see their bodies puffing up and down breathing. I read alot on this forum about giving them injections of meds, but we were raising them for meat. I don't think we should give them meds if we are eating them. We don't plan to slaughter until probably March, so will the medicine be out of their bodies by then or shouldn't we do it at all? Should we try anything else? We removed the sick birds the other day and put them in a separate coop, but they may have already affected the others. What is this and what should I do? Can the sick ones be saved? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
