We got 2 lavender orphs from the feed store a couple days ago, noticed one with pasty butt and washed it and dried it but it’s been declining today, other chick is acting fine and this chick was just fine this morning. Now all it wants to do is sleep. It’s crop is full and it is chirping but mainly sleeping With its wings slightly dropped. I recently moved the lamp thinking she could have been too hot.. this was about 5 hrs ago no change
medicated feed ,
I also have corrid liquid available if I HAVE to.
When it pooped earlier it was literally a sliver. Wasn’t even a full chick poo, that’s why I cleaned it’s butt and noticed the pasty, I fear I may have cleaned it too late not realizing it can damage the health of a perfectly fine check. Help?

I have her in my lap on a napkin separated to see its poo when it goes again but she really has no problem just sitting here which I think is odd

So sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was suffering from shipping stress. Those chicks have more pasty butt and may have been dehydrated or chilled during shipping. I try to find out when the chicks are coming, and get them the same day. They tend to get a bit ignored in feed stores if there longer than a day. I would make sure the other one is drinking and eating. Poultry NutriDrench is a great product to have around, and you can give a couple of drops orally to any weak chicks. I use it the minute I get them home.
