Dad's pretty weak these days. Time's coming. And there
are things he just can't do anymore.

It makes him mad.

He dropped the cap to one of his medicines down the bathroom
sink the day before yesterday. Slid by the stopper, went down the
drain.

Such a simple matter to pop the trap apart.

Unless you're to weak.

He tried.

Couldn't do it. Got mad.

Got a hammer.

Removed drain from sink.

Found his cap.

Mom called me, told me I needed to fix sink.

What she meant to say was I needed to go and buy her
a new sink.

Now the hammer is put away.

Spook, I know it's not a bit funny, but I had to laugh.

Sounds so much like what I went through with Pa.

I came over one morning to check on him, heard hammering beside the house. Went around there and he was trying to beat the electric meter off the side of the house with a claw hammer. I got him calmed down, asked what was wrong. He said he got a light bill for $21.00 and "Blankety blank blank" if HE was going to pay any such highway robbery. Said I'll beat it off the wall and they can stick it.....


Anyway...
The last few years he lived I just beat him to the mailbox and paid the light bill myself.
