Sounds like a good time.Just busy being me.
Hana starts Jr. High, 7th grade tomorrow and wanted a "back
to school party" for her and her best friends. About 17 kids and whatever parents felt like staying.
And...she wanted it in the woods. Fully-decked.
So I've been three days putting out props and decorations. Remowing the roads, final trim of the limbs. Some of the
things I'll start putting away again tomorrow.
Cookout.
Golf cart (3) running as hard as they could.
Games to be played.
A lot of work.
And those "road signs" I was talking about a while back
were a big hit. Day-light party, over just before dark.
Parents enjoyed them as much as the kids did.
Was it worth it?
Yes, it was.
Dad was there. One of his good days, and he did the grilling.
Enjoyed himself. When he got tired he went in to rest on
the couch. Even some aunts and uncles stopped by. Dad
dropped the hotdogs...his hands shake a lot anymore. But
Jake (the dog) likes his hotdogs dropped on the ground
anyway.
So even Jake enjoys a good cookout. Almost as much fun
for him as chasing golf carts.
As small as it may sound, Hana will always have the memory of Grandpa cooking out for "her party".
That alone, more than made my three days of work worthwhile.
Spook...
