A kid got clowning around at the fair with my 32" mini mule. He threw a leg over her and was standing there laughing about how little she was, and Betsy just stood there between his long legs. He had no idea that he was playing with fire. Whenever Betsy gets startled, her first reaction is to rear - and she's always been man-shy. I turned to someone who knew from experience how wild the mule was before I got her and said, "it's a mighty good thing for him that I've been working with her, isn't it?" She said, "yep, or he'd be singing soprano!"
