and I were talking about making a cake, but we couldn't decide what kind (pitiful, isn't it, when you have to make your own cake

thought maybe a carrot cake, but I know Sour doesn't like cream cheese frosting. Someone suggested a Red Velvet Cake - I think we all know why that wouldn't fly.

A yellow cake, ditto. I was dithering between an Angel cake and Devil's Food . . . .


Finally, I got an idea - cupcakes! To each their own - there are even some jelly bean cupcakes!

My mother made a really excellent friutcake once and it was by accident. The recipe called for among other things, a cup of orange juice and a quarter cup of brandy. My mother misread it and put in a quarter cup of orange juice and a cup of brandy. The brandy cut the sweetness or something. Anyway, the fruitcake was really good.
