Au contraire.

We have bushes here...yep...bushes.

However, the infamous, super stupid, not actually Alaskan bush people, are down in south east Alaska. I live close to the Kilchers....AKA "Alaska, the last frontier ".

The Kilchers actually are a bunch of crazy true homestead Alaskans. Of course the times I watch that show...I laugh up a storm.....

Just streaking through here.....

I have not abandoned this thread, just left it in capable hands for a while.

Life happens. My Dad went into the hospital with pneumonia and went downhill fast from there. He is back in his memory care ( really nice ) facility, but is pretty much bedridden and needs 24 hour care. I have requested and received FMLA for 6 weeks and will use up another 6 weeks of vacation time when that runs out. After that, I will retire. I will see you guys as much as I can, but there hasn't been time lately.

Love you all!

Wisher, I understand and am pulling for you.

I guess part of life is that we are destined to become the caretakers of those who took care of us - I hope that makes sense. My mother remained pretty self sufficient (Dad died quickly while relatively young), but we were responsible for Elaine's folks. SIL's mother is now dealing with the onset of dementia, and they are scrambling to get care set up. Hopefully we will not become the responsibility of our kids.

The one really good part of your post is the impending retirement.

Hey, Wisher!

Good hearin' from ya, gal!

I wasn't sure what was keeping you away, but I knew it was important. I just want you to know that you are missed, and thought about and prayed for daily.
