If you don't mind my asking, what is a denizen?

Bump is very excited to come to the picnic.
A denizen is someone or something (in this case, definitely "something") that lives in a particular place. Bluesub has stocked the moats with all manner of creatures that she calls her "lovelies", but which most of us would go to great lengths to avoid. Sourland seems very eager to introduce someone, anyone to them, but for some reason, doesn't feel a great interest in getting better acquainted with them himself.
Just curious - is Bump a trained 'attack chicken'?

No, Sour's at large. With the assistance of assorted friends and family members, he maintains enough of an appearance of normality to be permitted to roam the countryside like the rest of us.
