I think homemade edibles make for really nice gifts. It shows that you've put time and effort into making the gift, so it's very personal. Homegrown eggs also make for a nice gift, but we're running a bit low at the moment. We gave away most of our remaining eggs to the neighbors because the dad's parents are visiting from Germany. I think we have three eggs left, and Wilma seems to be laying a bit badly now too, leaving Emma as our only layer. How soon do broodies usually resume their laying after the chicks have hatched? Do they often lay and act as mommies at the same time? At least they're eating like crazy, so they should regain the lost weight pretty quickly.
