Mentioning moats, I'm beginning to feel like I am living in one. I took this picture this morning; this bucket was empty two days ago.

Not the most accurate measurement, I know, but that's all rain water, and I have reason to suspect that some splashed out during some pretty heavy downpours overnight. My horses have parked themselves in the barn.

Yep. This may be North, but it is Carolina, after all. And I keep reminding myself that it could always be worse - though trying to imagine how many inches of snow that much water would be makes my head hurt!

just chop it off.... That'll fix the pesky pain.

Just because I have enough sense to live in a place where the ground is snow-free for more than six minutes per year is no reason to bite my head off.

For cryin' out loud . . . . .the bucket is full again; this time, it got filled in about 4 hours.
