Not sure I have a "Stance" really...It would be unfair of me to say ALL men who are friends with a woman just want something more...but many of them do. The safest thing to do is assume that your friends are not the exception to that rule. They might be, might just be really sweet guys who have zero interest in anything but being your friend...might even truly start out that way, but it usually leads to something more in my experience.
That being said, it's not impossible to be friends with men either. I have many male friends I absolutely adore, and would be lost without. My best friend is a man. We've been friends 10 or 11 years. He's a gentleman and is a very intelligent, kind person. He's also the prime example of what I'm talking about. We were very close for over a year when he told me he was in love with me. We even dated for awhile. Now we're back to being just friends, but his feelings are still the same and he makes it known. However, we still have a wonderful friendship, and I really don't know what I'd do without him in my life. He knows me better than I know myself at times.
So, while I have some friends who have never shown an interest in wanting more, many more of them have. It's just the way it is.
Romantic feelings can hit anyone at anytime about most anyone else. You can't help it.
Many of my most valued friendships are men. As far as I know, none of them save the one I mentioned have any such ideas about me,and even if they did, it wouldn't change how I felt about them, so I don't worry about it.
But. since you're a younger my advice is this...stay away from all boys. ALL OF THEM. Wear your bucket at all times. Watch out for tricky boys who might pretend to be around for other things...do you think boys go to school to learn? Absolutely not. They go to catch the unsuspecting, non-bucket wearing girls. So be careful. You most certainly do not want to become twitterpated. It's awful. I've enclosed a warning video made by my dear friend, Friend Owl.
It's vice versa for you boys too...so watch those tricky girls.
