*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Having a mild panic attack here... My friend is getting MARRIED in April. She is all of seventeen, holy shoot.
She's a great person and so is he, but... Not ready to be married in the least. Good heavens.

Well, good luck to her, I suppose. Seventeen is WAAAAAAAYYYY too young for getting married IMHO, but if she thinks she's ready....

Yah, but roughly half of early marriages end in divorce these days. Plus, what are hers and the young man's plans for college? As I've seen with my family, getting married young and eventually having kids can really keep a person from getting done what they want to get done.

Well, Eenie, the Princess was 18 and I was 21 when we met. She was 19 and I was 22 when we got married - semester break my senior year. For us it worked. There is no written rule or guarantee for a marraige. Wait a minute maybe there is - "Til death do us part.' We bought into that completely.

Tani, actually I think there are statistics that show that the failure rate of ALL marriages exceeds 50%. It's almost like some are looking for an excuse to get out of their commitments? I just don't get it.
