Silence Is Not Golden Here

We just moved our surviving hens into the panel hoop run. Praying like mad that the fox who will inevitably return tonight does not challenge it too much.
If I lose any more birds to that fox I am going to go apeshit. Might even have animal control come and take care of it since I have the right to defend my livestock.
Animal control usually doesn't deal in wild-life. When I lived in a basement apartment in the DC Metro area, I had a coon that liked to come up to my glass door can taunt my cats and raid my trash. I called Animal Control and they said they only deal in domestic animals and to call a nuisance wild-life trapping company that cost an arm and a leg.

That's ridiculous.

What do y'all think of this?
(True story from just yesterday)

What's sketchy is that yesterday we had some couple we had never seen (they don't live here) drive around the circle twice and both times slowed down and stared at us and our chickens.
This fox thing that attacked was really really big for a fox. I wonder if it was a man made hybrid. It was extremely strong, too.

Hybridized with what? Fox and dogs can't reproduce. They're different genus - dogs are canus, fox are canidae.

We're going to be moving in a couple of months, and the new place has room for goats, geese, and a much bigger garden. He might have been born in the city, but I'll make a farmer out if him yet!

Oh my goodness! Sounds like your living my dream! Congratulations! That sounds just plain wonderful!
