Silence Is Not Golden Here

All roos are nice until they "hit puberty."
Beekissed's Rooster Speak

At what age do cockerels reach puberty? I just had a 9 week old 55 Flower Hen Cockerel peck my hand hard & made it bleed. I made like a beak with my fingers together & pecked him back until he ran. He then ran around the inside of the coop & came back to attack me again. I decided he should sleep with the older flock & put him in there (once I caught him). The older flock were already roosting & the cockerel crowed a few times, then jumped on the top roost, knocked a black australorp hen off the roost & tried to mate her. I grabbed him off her & placed him inside a pet carrier for the night. I’ve read the rooster speak article & pretty much handle my older rooster that way. He is a good rooster & has never shown aggression toward anyone. Right now I’m trying to grow out several groups of chickens & plan to pick the future breeders. Should I go ahead & cull this little guy? He seems very aggressive for such a young age.
