No dice, dude. I recant my statement regarding living in a root cellar. I don't do spiders. The ones that build webs in my garden are welcome guests, but the the creepers who hide in corners and drains? Not so much.

One thing I'm loving about the chickens.... the number of spiders coming into the house has been drastically reduced since starting them on free-ranging during the day. They hang out around the house lounging in the shade and eating all the crawly things.

I may like snakes, but I don't like arachnids. I'm extremely sensitive to their venom - not all snakes are venomous, but ALL spiders are. Even wolf spiders, usually considered harmless, will make me sick for weeks if one bites me.

Oh, @KikisGirls. That "white" EE chick of mine that you were worried about. It's splash, not white! I'm planning on breeding her to one of my Bantam Cochin/Choc Orp Cockerels when she gets older.

I had a leghorn/EE cross that laid light mint colored eggs. She was solid white.

We have a welsummer so a dark egg will be coming anytime with the ee
