Silence Is Not Golden Here

We were naming body parts the other day and I asked him where his boobies were, and instead of putting his, he patted mine and said "my boobies". Well, he's not wrong...
:gig

I carefully use the word "milkies" for nursing. He actually just started saying it. He still uses the sign for milk most though.

My cousin warned me against using "boobies" after my son was born. She said it was cute when her son would sweetly ask for boobies at home, but it was extremely embarrassing to have him throwing a temper tantrum in the grocery store screaming " I. WANT. BOOBIES!!!" as loud as he could.

I could see how that would be embarrassing! When my "big boy" (he keeps insisting that he is) wants to nurse, he asks for "this". With his new talking skills, it's adorable because he over pronounces it. He came up with it on his own, too.

That's cute. My sister used to ask for "tit-tit" which is another term I carefully avoided.

I night weaned my son several months back so my supply has dropped and he often switches sides. So he'll start trying to pull my bra back up and I've been asking him "Do you want the other one?". He used to say "Yes" but lately, he's been obsessed with numbers and counting. So I was confused when he started saying "One, one!" when he starts pulling on my bra. Then I realized, he's asking for the other "one".

Earlier today, he did something smart and I told my DH that "Our son is a smart cookie." I turned to my son and said "Are you a smart cookie?" and he replied "YUM!":lau

Well I need to hit the hay. I just got the boy down to bed about 20 min ago and I need to follow him. I know I should follow sooner, but I need a little "me time" to noodle around on the computer and decompress before trying to fall asleep.

Good night!

Curiosity is bugging me. Have any of you ever hatched a chick from a giant chicken egg? I have a hen(s), probably one or more of my 3 year old sex links, who occasionally lays a “goose” sized egg. I get one every few months. The eggs are normal looking and single yoked, just gigantic. Anyone ever hatch one of those? I wonder if the chick would be monstrous too.... I’m not considering propagating “good genes or bad genes” or trying to debate any of that. I’m just really curious...

You don't want the egg to be too large or too small. Too large, and the chick will have a hard time hatching because it can't get enough leverage to break out and there is often WAY too much fluid in a large egg. Also, large and small eggs often have shells that are tougher than average.

That’s a good point.

How'd it go? You have any investments in this fair? You buy any stock?
It went great.
I show at this fair (I can't remember if I posted about the first or second fair. I show at the first one.)
I am trying to buy good stock but these are county fairs so it's difficult.
Thankfully, I already have the contacts of one reserve best breeder who is setting eggs next week and another breeder who may occasionally have birds for sale. I also can get the contact of another local breeder who is hatching this summer.
I have the contact for someone who ships eggs and I have a great resource in a retired champion breeder.

I am finally getting somewhere.
