Silence Is Not Golden Here

We start this morning :)
It's better for me to run and get my blood moving so that I can focus.
Enjoy - I'd love to visit Germany. I will one day though I have a habit of, um, imbibing too many libations, shall we say? Plus, I just LOVE good beer.
Have fun rock climbing - always a blast!

@Zinjifrah - Do you have any recent pics of your EE x Cochins?
I'd love to see how they are coming along.
Both my EE girls are laying and the little dude seems to be getting the job done. They hunker and the eggs look fertile so hopefully this trend continues through next season.

There's only the one who came from an EE hen (that I know of) - the one that sprained her hock! I don't have a recent photo, but I can take one tomorrow. I took the vet-wrap brace off the leg today, and she did just as well hobbling around without it, so I figure I'll monitor her usage and not annoy her with the wrap unless I need to.

The other muttly chicks I have no idea what the hens were... other than that the possibilities are 'Cochin, RIR, unknown black, and unknown buff'. One of the black chicks is quite obviously a cockerel already, at under five weeks old, and I'm pretty sure several of the others are, as well. I'm worried that the EE mix (KNOW who laid that one - it hatched from a blue egg!) may be a cockerel... that little pea comb was looking a bit pink today. Hopefully, that's just from the heat and all the smoke in the air.

Fingers crossed for a pullet! Looking forward to that pic.

With my luck at getting cockerels, I wouldn't be surprised if they all are! At least they'd have enough meat on them to be worth someone's effort for soup, unlike the bantams...

Got a video today of the Silkie and Sebright cockerels I gave away. The people who took them said they're the best pets, and wanted to let me know how delighted they are to have them. They wanted boys for a bachelor group. It's nice to know they're appreciated!
