Silence Is Not Golden Here

I love crabs! Yum! Only problem with raising them is that crabs also love crab (yes. They also say yum)
They will eat the ones that go into soft shell mode as they grow... softies are delicious though, so I don’t blame them.
I would say if there was something I had to eat for my whole life it would be crab :drool

Mmmm... I love crab. Fresh crab, that is. I live in a landlocked state, so fresh crab is pretty much a myth. When I was young, we visited family on the New Jersey coast, and we went crabbing off of a dock near Midway Beach. Never forgot the taste of fresh blue crab boil.

Did you know, that after a crawfish boil or shrimp boil, that feeding the remains to the chickens results in some of the orangish-reddish yolks? Could be the cayenne. But I was betting on the crawfish shells. The girls tore up those mud bugs. I only gave them a small batch thinking they'd pick at them. Nope. Should have dug the rest out of the trash can and tossed it too. After the claws dried out, I smashed them and they fought over the bits too. You'd think they were deprived.

Of course, I love mud bugs too! Crabs take too long to pick. It'll keep Crazy Lady at the table ALL DAY though. We get tired. She tromps through.

No crabs for me. You folks can have them all. Nasty sea-spiders! Never been a fan of shrimp, either... but somehow, I've never actually tried crayfish myself. I've meant to, just never have. I would imagine that chickens would go absolutely crazy over crayfish, shrimp, crab, lobster... I can just imagine them going after a lobster head.

You don't like shrimp!!!! You gotta try them dipped in Horseradish seafood sauce :drool
Well, gonna head out to Egg Man's soon.
See ya :frow, and I hope your Cochins recover soon :fl

I never liked them as a kid. I didn't like the idea of eating big bugs. I retried them as an adult, shellfish make my mouth go numb. I found that there were quite a few things on my "extreme dislike" list as a kid that I'm now allergic or sensitive to.

I don't like horseradish, either! I've got a texture fixation. The taste doesn't bother me. The texture of shrimp is repulsive to me. Same for lobster and crab, as well as just finding crab repulsive as food in general. Fascinating as animals.

You know, adults like to make kids eat things that kids don't like. Yet more and more, studies are finding that children have a lot more active taste buds than adults do - food that tastes good to an adult tastes completely different to a child, and they're apparently much more sensitive to nuances of flavor. That said, I still don't like grilled liver and onions. The texture.... is incredibly disgusting.
