I don't think they crow as much by the time they reach 2 or 3 years of age. Roosters are quieter than barking dogs, lawn mowers, weed eaters, trains, roofers, boom boxes, etc..

I'd rather wake to a rooster than a screaming alarm clock. Sitting here at my computer at 4AM, I can hear the train whistle 4 miles away but at 6AM I can't hear the roosters in my own backyard.
