Silkie and Brahma sexing

My thoughts....

It was a tough decision, but I think your Brahma is a roo. I don't know... I just get a roo vibe from him.. and that curl to his tail feathers is pretty convincing. How old is he, though?

And these are purely guesses, since I don't own any Silkies...

Silkie #1 - Roo
Silkie #2 - Hen
Silkie #3 - Hen

Either way -- beautiful birds!

Found pictures of two of my Brahma Roo's. The light Brahma's tail had been a bit picked at by some of the others at the time this was taken. He was about 7 months old when we took this picture. Now his tail is as full as the dark Brahma's. The dark Brahmas is 2 years old in this picture. Hope this helps.

The light brahma is about 3 months old. I bought it 7-19 and it was about a week old then. It's had the bright red comb and wattles for well over a month now. The tail feathers are longer then the rest and curl over, which is when I pretty much decided it had to be a roo.

For what my opinion is worth. Rooster. What jumped out for me what the start of the "saddle" feathers on his back. At least it looked like it in the photo.
When you said 3 months, that clinched it for me! Roo!

If the brahma is only three months old then I'm gonna have to change my answer to roo.
I'm searching for a pic of my light brahma roo at 3 months old, but I think it's on my SO's computer. I'll keep looking.
