Silkie bantam, is it a Rooster or Hen?

Here is a young cockerel (4-5 months old). See the streamers in the back and we'll developed comb? Compared to your girl's, there's a noticeable difference.

I have a strange request. Can you take a pic of her vent?

Haha, I might be able to... I assume by vent you mean the rear hole, not the mouth or nose, please clarify this before I send you a picture of a chicken's rear vent. Sorry, I have never been asked for pictures of a chicken's rear so I just want to make sure that is what you have requested. If you mean the mouth or nose then this will be one embarrassing comment.

Lol, yeah, the butthole. There's a way to tell if they are laying or close to laying. I think it's pretty neat, but I might be weird.

Ok I got the picture, I also took a few more pics that may help to confirm TL's gender.
This one is a picture showing how TL stands.

Hmm, now I'm not so sure. I forget if you said, is TL around roosters? Definitely not laying nor about to start. There's sometimes silkies that are hard to be sure of. I'd say if you get no eggs in the next couple months, the TL is just a subtle rooster.

TL was bought with another silkie that looked like he was a rooster but he died several months ago, so TL is kept alone, she/he sleeps in a small plastic bin in my room at night and lives in my rabbit hutch in the day. I have 4 sexually mature roosters in my flock but they are all more than twice the size of TL so I have not let them go by TL.

This is unrelated to the rooster topic but when TL was younger, around 5 months she was kept with a newly hatched muscovy duck, the little duckling imprinted on TL and would follow her around and hide under her fluff. That little duckling is nearly 20 pounds now and is a massive Muscovy drake, he would viciously maul any rooster or hen that got close to TL, at one point I was even able to keep TL with the main flock because this drake would let no chickens get within 5 feet of them. Unfortunately, as the drake matured more he attempted to mount TL, this was a problem because TL is a little 3 pound bantam and this duck is a 20 pound drake, TL did not try to run when it happened but it did not last more than a few seconds, I took TL out of the main coop because I did not want him/her to get crushed. It has been around 4 months since TL was brought inside and to the rabbit hutch but whenever a do bring TL out with me to clean her/his bin in the morning or bring him/her to the rabbit hutch the drake watches us and gets really happy, he runs to the door and I let him out to play with TL for a little while, he nibbles on her feathers and runs around flapping his wings. The playdates don't last long though, I have to take TL away after 5 or so minutes when the drake tries to mount her. Then TL stays in the rabbit hutch for the day.

Ok, my personal experience (and I've had a lot of roosters, sometimes 15-20 at a time) is they will crow unless there's a dominant rooster around. So I think it's either a slow to mature pullet or possibly something hormonally messed up. I'm guessing the first.

You should try to get her a silkie friend or two. She'll be much happier. I have a young Drake bonded to a cockerel. Neither are sexually mature yet, so I'm keeping an eye on things. There's a few females, so hopefully that'll distract my Drake.

Thanks for the help, TL will be getting new friends this April on the 15th, from the same event she was bought from, the fur & feathers. Also, in my experience roosters also do not crow when there is a dominant rooster around I completely agree with that statement.

Offtopic again but I currently have 5 rooster and two do not crow, I usually only say I have 4 roosters because my 5th roo is partially brain dead, he does not mate and he attacks me, he does not fly at all, he can't even jump up to his roost, he fights with my ducks and loses, he fights with my roosters and loses, and he fights with my hens and still loses. His depth perception is broken, he always misses his hits when fighting and he can not avoid attacks, so despite his massive size a small hen can give him a beating. He also does not crow or even make alarm calls, I don't know if it is because of the other roosters or if it is because of his disability. These problems started when he was around a month old, he had what I assume was a stroke and after that he was never the same. I think the stroke may have destroyed part of his brain because he is so odd. He sometimes tries to fly but it is just horrible, a few weeks ago he ventured out into the snow and did not like it so he tried to fly back to the coop, he went insanely fast, he went up and then as he went down he did not stretch out his legs to land, he just smashed into the ground and knocked the wind out of himself, he was stunned for like 5 minutes. It was like he did not realise the ground was so close. I haven't seen him fly since then...
He is a RIR. When I talk about my roos I only count the ones that mate so he gets left out.
