silkie bantam size

i dont understand my silkies are no lonnger bantams they are huge.

i know silkies are bantams but they are standing 16 in tall and i have some other silkies in a pet quality flock that dont get over 8 to 12 inches tall they are small. im kind of confused i know that we only have the bantam size here in the u.s. but how are they considered bantams when they are getting this big?

silkies are a larger bantam, some are larger than standards(OEG)....

I just keep my oversized silkies seperated from my other silkies. I have a black 48oz hen and a 57oz splash Roo that I keep with my standard size chickens. The Roo looks like he is squishing the poor "bantam" silkie hens if I let him run with them.

My oversizes tend to appear as just that. They are bearded and fluffy with plenty a feather a foot. They don't look much like the standard size silkies in europe or australia. In fact they look just like larger versions of the chics that were born the same day as they were that do meet the standard here in the US. When I figure out this site better I will post some pics. Right now I can't even get my avatar to work. Guess which big splash roo will be my Avatar!
