*Update* Kevin is 16 weeks old, and has suddenly grown small wattles :/ also thicker legs and heavier meatier body than the older female. Still no streamers, small comb and no crowing, but im starting to think it's a roo

best photo out of the 36 photos i took lol you can just see the wattles, they're small but they definitely weren't there a week ago and the older girl doesn't have them

Yeah, more than likely a rooster. They have awfully thick legs in comparision to the hens. One time when I hatched my own batch, one chick was born with legs that were obviously about 2x as thick if not more; he was a rooster.

Looks boyish, reminds me of my young partridge silkie cockerels. Have you any close up photos of the comb and wattles?

(Very late) Update: We went away on holidays for 6 weeks over Xmas, when we got back Kevin had grown an enormous comb and wattles, he turn from a sweet fluffy unknown to a huge cranky rooster lol we took him back to the farm and swapped him for a white chick, but it looks like this one is a rooster too, and the farm owner is refusing to refund or exchange, she was really quite rude about it, so we won't be getting any more silkies until we find another breeder :/

Aw, sorry to hear about the rude breeder :/ You'd think she would aim to please to keep your business! Your white that came with Kevin is very striking, I love her bonnet crest! Any pictures of the new bird?

jibbly is the brown one, pretty sure it's a pullet, iris is the white one and has huge comb and wattles and spiky crest, and s/he hates to be handled
