Eggs from a Show Quality and shown bird (IF a winning bird) are worth quite a bit more than PQ fertile eggs. I eat all my PQ Silkie eggs. I would not pay that price for PQ hatching eggs...

Quote: The eggs from show birds should be worth more than that, but I do not see any point in selling eggs from pet quality birds. I can understand hatching or giving away eggs to neighbors (or even one's self) who simply want backyard pets, or to someone who wants to do a test hatch in a new incubator, and I can understand selling eggs to people who want eggs for their breakfast or baking, but why would anyone want to sell or purchase pet quality eggs?
Eating egg prices can vary dramatically. Here they run about $5 per dozen at farmers markets.
Eating eggs here in Oregon at farmers market go for $8-12 per dozen. All the hipsters pay top dollar for "organic" and/or "cage free" eggs. I sell to coworkers and family for $5/dozThe eggs from show birds should be worth more than that, but I do not see any point in selling eggs from pet quality birds. Notify Craigslist, and inform the seller that they have commited copyright infringement. Don't let these people get away with this. Notify, and file a complaint with Paypal also, if involved.Found this scummy person using pictures of other people's silkies as their own to sell "show quality champion stock hatching eggs": http://westernmass.craigslist.org/grd/3754561665.html
I emailed the owners of the individual chickens. I didn't want to report the ad yet so they owners can see it.Notify Craigslist, and inform the seller that they have commited copyright infringement. The price can vary dramatically from one location to another. I sometimes see people posting that they can't sell eggs for more than $1.50 per dozen. I think that in general, people that live in/near more urban/suburban areas are more willing to pay more than what those who are out in the booneys will.Quote:Eating eggs here in Oregon at farmers market go for $8-12 per dozen.
