Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

These two made their first venture out to free range yesterday. They were having fun with it I'm pretty sure they're both boys at this point. I can't be positive of course though. They are about 12-13 weeks old now.

I have 9 bearded Silkie eggs in the bator that were shipped from Florida (to PA) that are due next week. Every one is developing. I'm really excited to see what i get since they're random colors.

Looks like a nice little chick to me! Really the only thing you'd check at this point would be the correct number of toes (some people aren't picky about placement, others are) and the right skin color. Everything else, like wing placement, comb, ECT, can't be assessed until they've grown a bit and completed all of their juvenile molts

That's what I figured, (having to wait until he's older to assess other features) but I have others that don't have the feathers down their middle toe... Just the leg and outside toe on each foot. Does that mean they're bad quality?

OK, I ordered some shipped eggs a few weeks ago and each egg was marked with its color. I know what white, blue, paint and lavender are but what would PC or SP stand for? Any ideas?

Has anyone ever purchased silkies from Geri Godina? I may be getting some chicks from her and I want to see what they'll look like in terms of quality. Please post pictures.

I don't have any from her, but she's got really nice Silkies. She's a member here on BYC, I think her username is silkiehorsechick, I cant remember though :/

Hello, my fellow silkie breeders. I've been reading this thread from the beginning for months but finally decided I better post otherwise it would take me the rest of the year to finish! I hatched my first silkies a year ago knowing nothing but loving all of the pictures I saw on Google. I quickly became obsessed and worked hard hatching shipped eggs from quality breeders and then buying adults and having them shipped to me (which I most definitely should have done in the reverse order) lol. It took me a few months to decide which colors to focus on. I initially just wanted to hatch one of every color! I've finally decided on white, black and paint, since I can use all 3 in breeding paints. I was wondering if there is any other members breeding paints? I know there is a paint thread but it is totally dead!! I would say the most frustrating aspect so far has been how long silkies take to grow out! I finally have several girls coming of age (and several boys that must go ) and am finding new eggs each day. I have been hatching my own eggs each month and keeping the best chicks to grow, while selling the others. I have a lot of partridge popping up and lots to learn. I hope to make some friends here!
