Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

You receive the quarterly newsletters, can participate in the forum, have access to the club's photo albums which includes a series of albums that show various faults and their more ideal counterparts, you can sell through the club's forum, have your showing points accumulated and rewarded, and you get to support junior members in their breeding and showing endeavors. :)
I didn't realize the albums were only available to members.
I would like to buy some leg bandettes (the plastic ones with numbers on it)
but I cannot figure out the size. I would like some for my newly hatched chicks, some for my teenagers and finally some for my adults.
Can someone help me with the size?
I use size 9. I put them on the chicks I'm keeping to grow out at 6 weeks and they stay on permanently. I use the chick bands without numbers until then. Unroll them all the way to put them on. They come in lots of colors. Some times I have to put more than one color on because I don't have all the colors.

I currently have the plastic spiral ones but I don't like them much. Thank you ;)

The size 9 bands will remain on the 6 week old chicks through adulthood? It will accomodate their growth?

There will be a "Silkie Social" on the Friday night before the show. Talk to Vickie Harry about whether or not a lunch is being planned on the Saturday. If not, maybe you could plan one...set up a table, hang the Silkie banner the club has, and bring some chairs. We did this at the Virginia show in November and had a great time...crockpots full of warm chicken and dumplings, cinnamon rolls, potato salad, hot coffee. It was a great place for us all to sit together and chat while we waited on the judges. It just needs someone to plan and implement it. :)

what a wonderful idea!! I just may make some chicken and dumplings and bring a table. Do they let you sell chicks and crafts at the show?

If you show up at the table at the right time, you might be able to sign up with me!!

Even if you join ahead of time, I hope you'll stop by the table and say hello.
Yes...I am signing up when I get there...for $15 that is a huge amount of perks!! I will let you know what I am wearing before I go...course you can't miss the red hair and cowboy hat.

OK...gave Poppy a bath today and took some pics...she did a little better this time in being still but she kept craning her neck out. But you can get an idea. She is about 4.5 mo. old now. But she still has a lot of pin feathers...couldn't find my cats brush to work on them.
OK...let me know what you guys think. I want to take her to Newnan if you feel she would be a good candidate! She is still a bit damp in
places.

Her wings look a little low, but it is probably just from the bath, my silkies never look their best until the next day when they feel better.
