I was hoping someone else would venture a guess.  Do you know what he's out of?

The dad is a white roo. Unfortunately he's in with a white hen, blue hen, and a splash hen. I can't tell which egg is which. I know he shouldn't be with all of them and I am in the process of building a coop for the whites.

So I have a question... If I breed a Buff and Splash Silkie what would I get? Could I possibly get a purebred splash or purebred buff or something in between???

The answer is "something in between" and then some.

Since I did extensive research on this because I have a Buff and a Partridge beardless and that's all I have, and I am trying to make nice beardless Partridges - the answer is you would get Smutty Buff and a bunch of messed up colors. Smutty Buff is Buff with black mixed in the Buff - on the wings, tail, sometimes head... Your Smutty Buff would have blue where the smut is instead of black because of the splash. You might get some blue with leakage, you might get some Blue Partridges.. and if they both carry recessive white (like some of mine did) you could get White.

They would all be purebred Silkies - just very poor coloring (except the Whites). If you want to keep nice colors and are not experimenting - stick to the color groups. Buff to Buff and Splash with Blue/Black/Splash. Anything else messes up the colors and you have to work to get them back.
