Quote: Yes, they do: silkies since 2001 and modern game bantams since 2011. It is listed on their website: http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/APA Recognized Breeds and Varieties Sept2012.pdf
Thanks for helping clear that up SonoranYes, they do: silkies since 2001 and modern game bantams since 2011. It is listed on their website: http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/APA Recognized Breeds and Varieties Sept2012.pdf
Quote: He should have; they made a mistake. He should have competed with all partridge cockerels, and then, since he was the only one (at least that is what I infer from your post) been judged for Best Variety against the other partridges who placed 1st for their age/gender .
Quote: I think the ABA may recognize it in other breeds, but cannot find a breed/variety list right now.
Could the 1 just mean best for gender? There were no other partridge boys. One of my partridge girls had 1 and BV written on her tag. Maybe he was judged in the variety. He should have; they made a mistake. If you find it, let us know. I was only mentioning Ameraucana, because I know it's not yet recognized under that breed.I think the ABA may recognize it in other breeds, but cannot find a breed/variety list right now.
Someone might have a better example, but here is my partridge girl's feet.Hey all. Another curious question for everyone out there. Does anyone have any good pictures of what the feathering should be like on the middle toe? And what the feet should look like anyway? Is there any difference between a pullet and cockerel's feet? My "show quality" eggs I ordered off ebay hatched out some seriously odd silkies with off wings and feet, at least I think.
