Silkie chick a hard like cyst on under eye lid, what do I do?

The the chick does not seem to be bothered and is acting fine and eating any drinking great. There has not been any mosquitoes and the rest of the chickens are thriving.

When I compared the pictures, I could see a change.

It does look like it has increased in size and the texture has changed. I see the reddened area at the top of the nodule. The chick's expression looks a bit sad, as well.

You need to do something for this chick. If this is a simple infection, it will spread into the chick's body. Because it is on the eye lid, it can even spread into the brain. A chicken's health can turn quickly, without proper care.

If you lance it as, Eggcessive suggested, you should have some Povidone Iodine ready. Just dab a little on the nodule with a cotton swab. Povidone Iodine will penetrate infection. Use it only once, then switch to an antibiotic ointment. Have some saline solution ready to flush, in case there is pus or blood. Sterile gauze to pat dry. Also have some styptic powder ready, in case it bleeds excessively. Take great care, to move away from the eye with the sterilized pin. Do not point the pin towards the eyeball, expect the chick to flinch.

Wish I was there to help. :fl

I pray all goes well...

God Bless :)
