Silkie Chick Care... too young to bathe?

I am planning to buy a silkie but I free range all of my birds. How well do they handle free ranging. Also are they nice birds or do they have an attitude?

Could I use a bit of Dawn dish soap or is that to harsh? Also I hear everyone uses Ivory is there anything else we could use?

ive been recommended to use a wool wash instead of shampoo
