I have a bunch of chicks of varying ages and I really think it can depends on the chick. Most are from mine but I also have some from another breeder and it seems it varies in each group. Some love to be held and demand it, some just like to be close and others run screaming as soon as I look at them but they all do seem to mellow out with age. Give it some time! ;-) They do seem to become pretty docile as they mature.
