Ok I was able to get a few new pics of the little baby this morning. I was wrong yet again on the comb. Its flat like a Silkies comb, so far.

It does have some silkie features, but shouldn't the legs be black skinned as well?
Look at the skin color around the vent see if its white or black. It looked like only one foot had 5 toes. Maybe a silkie mix.?? I have a white chick close to yours age to compare, thats why i think it could be a mix.

on the contrary! i once found a chick in the parkinglot of my orthodontist, and it was white, white skin, bright yellow feet and beak, and turned out to have silkie in it cuz it looked exactly like a silkie, just with yellow feet and red comb and 4 toes and white skin.. it even developed a crest! but unfortunatly it was a roo so i had to sell it.

Well after asking friends and local breeders, with no immediate luck, I found little Nemo 14 friends at the Poultry auction last night!

Here are some updated pics of Nemo, now 12 days old!

Anyone have a clue what breed Nemo might be yet? 5 toes on each foot, no foot feathers, white/gray wings, flat'ish comb.

I am not sure what Nemo is but the only thing that has any resemblance to a silkie in my humble opinion is the five toes. Definitely has hard feathers, white /yellow skin, it may but i can't tell by the picture not have any type of crest. I can't remember what other breeds have five toes but seems like there is another one. The chick sure is cute though, and looks like it will have beautiful markings.

Must just be one of those mixes that looks like one parent over the other. Can't wait to see what s/he feathers out to look like. I would imagine it is a Bantam of some sort though.

Looks like an injury
A deformity should not be like an open wound

It very well could have injured its self during shipping in a brooder or in a incubator.
I would say its wing got cought in something.

I would wash it or rince it off with warm water with a disenfectant, just to make sure
you kill any germs that could cause an infection. I don't think you have to worry about hurting it.

BUT it does look healthy at this point. And it is not something that should inpact its life to much.

Have fun with the little bugger.
