Hi, we have cameras out in the coops and run. I just so happen to get an alert on my phone and my paint silkie who is roughly 7 months old was flipped over on her back, kicking her legs unable to flip back over. Once I rushed out and flipped her over she started to run in a circle for a minute with her wing out. Once she stopped she just walked over to the edge of the pen with her wing still out and sat down. I checked her out and I didnt notice anything obvious other than her wing. But when I touch it she is fine. I separated her in our cat cage with food and vitamin water. Up until this she has been acting fine, eating and drinking and attempting to nest the last few days. I'm clueless on what this could be or what to do. We haven't introduced any new birds or done anything differently. All our other chickens appear to be fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Kind of a mix of both...it's not dragging on the floor but it's sticking out some and down low if that makes sense.
Oh, ok. Have you searched for anything that might be on her wing (string, twine, etc.)? How does all her wing joints look and feel compared to the other wing? Have you tried gently folding it back to how its supposed to be to see if she'll keep it in place?

Yes, I searched her wing and found nothing on it or under it. And the wing will stay in place for a minute then she moves it back out. Feels the same as the other one. I just don't understand why she suddenly flipped over on her back and couldn't get back up. I just don't really know what to treat her for.

I'm wondering if maybe there's a nerve in her joints getting pinched. Try gently moving her wing all the way out then back for a couple of times and then see how it is. ;)

Ok, thank you ill give it a try. From just doing some reading I'm worried it may be mericks disease by their description of it.

Oh. Have your flock been vaccinated against it? Have you added any new birds to the flock recently? Have they been exposed? I've had a flock with Merrick's disease before, and I don't recall seeing anything like that before....

Ok that's reassuring. And no they are not vaccinated and no to any new birds.
