Silkie colouring

Please excuse the interjection but sometimes that can be a sign of a cross somewhere in the lines. It is an instant disqualification. I have looked at buying silkies from a breeder before, when asked why most his birds had not enough toes, he replied that there was a Cochin or three in the lines. Then argued that they where still show quality and well worth the 65.00 he was asking....lol

Here is a better picture of the Silkies.
The one on the right we believe will most defiantly be white but the one on the left???

I'd be interested to see how that darker one turns out. Silkies are so much fun!

The big question is how much they bred them back to silkies to get back to type and correct features. Most non-white silkies (and even some whites) have cochins, polish or other breeds in their background--but there is a big difference in many generations ago and 1 generation ago.

Sonoran Silkies, I am sure it was not that far back. I think he was trying to get sizzles. I saw some adult frizzles running around in the pens. Thank you for the info :) If you do not mind, I might PM Email you sometime and bombard you with Silkie questions.
