Silkie Contest!- Contest Ends 12/1/18- 5 winners will be posted 12/2/18!

This is my 6 month old paint cockerel Monet. He is my first chick I ever hatched, so he holds a very special place in my heart. He likes to sit next to me on the patio. Since the teenage hormones have kicked in he has a look but don’t touch mentality, I’m fine with that.

Herman the House Rooster
1. Name of silkie
Herman (formerly known as Irma, until he started crowing)
2. Age
Ten Months. He hatched the day Hurricane Irma hit the US mainland.
3. Gender
Male, but I'm not sure he knows that, yet...
4. Color
Blue Splash, Heavy on the splashes!
5. Bearded or not bearded
There's a bit of one coming in, but he's like a teenage boy waiting to shave ... only HE thinks it's a full beard!
6. If a Silkie mix provide what it is mixed with
Herman is not supposed to be a mix, but he's a hatchery baby, so he's a bit on the bigger side. He's a bit self-conscious about it, though.
He swears it's just "floof!"

7. Something unique about your Silkie or your favorite thing about them
He's Herman! That's his best point, but he's also a bit of a celebrity, 'cause he's a House Rooster! He even has his own article on BYC - "Is there a Rooster in the House?"
8. Picture of your Silkie
Herman, the "Mrs. Doubtfire" of Chickendom, waiting patiently to be let in with the babies. At bedtime, he waits until "his" babies are roosting, then calls at the door to be let out again... so he can go back inside the house!
