It was just a freak accident. DS was carrying a bucket of water out to another area. He sat it down and went to do something else. He actually forgot about the bucket. When he remembered and went back, that is what he found. He felt so bad, I couldn't even yell at him.

I guess I will just put this guy with some of the black Ameraucanas and start from there.

Gosh, they're beautiful!

Some chickens just seem to be slow to mature, especially those closer to the wild forbears... These may be a throwback to that pattern? Only time will tell!

I can see the difference between the roo and the hens. Guess I have two hens! Kathy what size are the leg bands that you have on them.

I bought some and they are too big. Good for Orps but not for these delicate legs!

I don't know what size the band is, Germaine. Julie put it on before she brought them to me. I think they sell variety packs, with several sizes in them, also. I can't remember if that is how I bought mine or not. I have several sizes and several colors, but I just throw them all in a big zipper pouch.
