SILKIE FEATHERING INFORMATION WANTED!!!

Well, phoenix and sumatra have fairly horizontal tails--of course you do realize that seramas are pretty tiny? Or you could work on japanese, and the squirrel tail isn't an issue, but they're bantams, too.

Wry tail is caused by a weak vertabrae in the tail that cannot support the weight of the feathers and, thus, leans to one side.

Squirrel tail is a tail that is held at or above 90 degrees. It is a disqualification in all breeds except Japanese and Serama bantams. It's also bloody hard to get rid of.

I can just tell that squirrel tail makes your eyes glow

Yes, I realize that silkies are very small... Could I work on silkie/brahma? they both have the feathered feet. How many toes does a brahma have? If they have 5 then all I have to worry about is skin color, and comb type? I think thats all, right?
I dont know where I would get the seramas, and even if I did get them, it would be very hard to get them to breed with a standard chicken.
Does this sound right to you guys?

HAHA, yeah! I have some Moderns that are on the verge of Squirrel Tail. They're practically perfect otherwise, but than that bloody tail just shoots up. They conveniently hold their tails lower when the judge walks by, but still.

chickenwhisperer, brahmas have 4 toes and a pea comb. Fortunately a Walnut x pea comb would look pretty pea-ish, so you'd only have to worry about the 5th toe.

Silkies have significantly more foot feathering than brahmas, so select a silkie with poor quality foot feathers.

Comb type is not too hard--if you can find a single combed silkie, it will be easy.

And you want a silkie will good silkie feathering, but poor skin colour. Lacking in crest would also be good.

What colour are you wanting?
