Silkie Hatch-A-Long 2015

Day 5 candling shows veining in 6 out of 7 shipped eggs! These shipped through sub-zero temps and arrived a day late! I'm so excited! :)

That is probably a wonderful relief to see life after all that worry and even just being that they were shipped. Wishing you the best that all 6 make it out.

Today is day 18 for my batch 1 set of Silkie eggs....I am awaiting the arrival of incubator number 2 so I can use 1 for incubating and the other to hatch in but I'm going to have to do it all in 1 this time. I AM A NERVOUS WRECK!! I peeked at the day 18 set last night and compared to THE THOUSANDS of candling pics I've seen my air sacs look good and the rest is totally dark...I didn't see any movement and idk if that's normal? I've read where some start hearing little chirping noises coming from eggs before any pips is this common and when does it normally start?? I feel like I'm 9 mo pregnant again waiting to go into labor haha ....will I be this nervous every time or just this 1st time haha

I hope they all hatch for you. You can hear cheeping once they pip the inner membrane. I just hatched last week and I could hear them right through the incubator. I stayed up all night when mine hatched. Very eggsciting!!!

What day did they pip the inner membrane?

I initially wanted to see the internal pip...like I'd seen in pics...but it was day 18 and didn't want to wait, so I put them in lockdown and I think it was the very next day that I heard cheeping coming from the incubator. They started hatching on day 20 in the evening and ended early a.m. the next day. I used almost NO water during incubation and then filled up both reservoirs in the Brinsea mini advanced at lockdown. I had a 100% hatch 7/7.

Here are my little olive eggers:
