Silkie Hatch-A-Long 2015

I set 17 eggs in the incubator last night, 11 silkies and 6 others! This is my first time incubating, Really hope everything goes well! Hatch day 5/23.

I just set eggs last night too! Hatch day should be 5/28. I set 14 silkie eggs (I snuck 2 more in this morning), 5 olive eggers, and 24 wyandotte eggs. I am most excited about the silkies. I hope your hatch goes well!

So exciting! My first hatch was with a few eggs from my (at the time small) flock and a couple shipped silkie eggs that wouldn't fit into a friend's incubator. One of the eggs had major air sac problems. I never expected it to hatch... but it did. In fact, that was the only silkie that I hatched. He's a great little rooster and hopefully soon to be a dad. I hope your hatch goes smoothly and that you end up with lots of little fluffy chicks. Hopefully all 3 of the ones that look great will hatch and hopefully you'll have a few more surprise chicks too.

I have 4 of yours & 2 of my neighbors, put the turkey in the other incubator, but I'm pretty sure it's given up.
We have 10/10 of the lavenders which surprised me because I incubated the ones older than yours...lol.
19/19 guineas, I see the lighter eggs moving a little.
They'll probably early hatch while I'm gone most of the day tomorrow at a school field trip...lol

I hope those 4 hatch for you, and that they're mostly pullets

All 5 of my turks are still going strong. I moved the eggs to the hatcher a day late, and 2 of the turkeys were already internally pipped. A couple of your eggs were internally pipped too. There was also a Silkie/Sizzle from my own eggs riding on the turner. Oops. I only have 1 lav Orp left :/ I'm really hoping it hatches!

I candled tonight (day 7) and had 1 of 14 silkie eggs developing. I have another dozen that I collected this week, so I'll just try again. The rooster and hens haven't been together all that long so I'm not surprised. My wyandotte and olive egger eggs are all developing.

No silkies...can't wait till I get a hen so she can hatch her own
