Silkie Lovers, Show Off Your Fuzzy Chickens Here?!

Pics
Silkies are just all kinds of fun, with their puffy faces, floofy bodies, & fluffy butts. The tamest silkies we have is our SQ Silkies.

Lav, is sooo chill. I’m constantly reminding the kiddo that she’s a living thing. Now my daughter is really good with all the animals but lavender just tolerated sooo much it emboldens the kid to carry her around like a football

Oh she’s beautiful. So serious!!! Sorry we can’t take your fuzz butt serious, no matter how stern you look.

Ours like to snuggle.

Maybe lavender does too. I just assumed she tolerated it. Molly is generous with the treats too so it’s mutually beneficial
Silkies are wonderful birds, & often show respect to those who take care, & love them.

Here's another SQ silkie of ours. His name is Porcelain, but he's turning calico.

She's cute. The father carries the lavender gene.
Here's CuddleBug, who shows it.
I bred my silkie roo, SnuggleBug with a Porcelain D'Uccle hen.

Nice autosomal red.
Heyo, has anyone ever had a silkie with normal chicken feathers? These feathers are super soft, but are the kind of feathers youd see on a normal bird. Have you ever had that bfr?
Depending on where you got it, your chicken is probably a silkie cross, but could be a satin silkie.
Silkies are supposed to have walnut combs, but there are also some varieties that have single combs. Here's a couple of my standard sized Silkies.View attachment 1895960 View attachment 1895961
There aren't any varieties of silkies with single combs. Except for hatchery quality ones.
