Well, I looked at others pics of call duck colors...and they are called silvers in photos I have seen. I would call it similar to Silver Appleyard or Snowy. I have found some call Silver , Snowy....and some label Appleyard coloration Silver...then there are Silver Mallard which shows different coloration.... Just like I find 'fawn' and 'butterscotch' rather mixed up , depending on the pics... and they are not APA recoginzed at this time so it is a bit confusing... I will change my ad to call them Snowy since that may be more common or correct...

I posted a pic on this thread and probably need to do more photo shoots. My orginal birds I got from Holderreads in 2 shipments consisted of whites, blacks, black bibbed, mallard, snowy. I have bred for 6 years or so (I got them when he shipped ducklings still) and have had all kinds of colors 'show up' I have tried to sort them yearly to get more consistent... and some had no 'match' so I matched with either mallard or white if I could... (blacks were kept out of the other colors)... I have seen dusky and blue genes show up, perhaps butterscotch ?so it seems there are lots of colors in there! (except pied and spotted) ...

Gotcha. Here in the US that would be snowy (called silver in the UK and AUS).
But here, silver is a diluted blue and looks much different.
It can be confusing when the same terminology isn't used universally!

No they are still laying. The 'darker colors' don't lay as long. The Snowy and Apricot lay most of the year...(and white) .I do have a couple setting (the Snowy and Apricot) but I need to candle their eggs and see if they are progressing. I wanted to see how they do)... But will bring the Apricot in as there are 5 birds in their pen and 2 trying to set the same nest and one laying "elsewhere is not workable... I also may move my white male as he is young and the eggs are not fertile right now...and put another drake in with the females... (some drakes are not fertile at a year, but are after around 18 months or 2 yr... ) We had a early heat spell, was 90's for 2-3 weeks, but temps are dropping more to normal now , about 10 degrees cooler, so if you are interested I could watch the weather and grab them in the morning early and put them in cool space and then send...

Thanks! I have some incubating now, but after a rough shipment and how hard I've heard it can be to hatch these guys in the first place... I'm a little worried we might not wind up with any/many ducklings. What's the best way to reach you about ordering some eggs, after I give these some time to see how they do?
