I forgot if I mentioned that they are 1 year old (so I was told)

I'm not sure. Their eggs have been smaller than the eggs I usually get at the grocery store....does that tell you anything? Can you tell I'm a total noob? Lol!

Whatever they are, I paid $5 each for them...good deal? Still no names....although I'm thinking about Betty White and Bea Arthur

maybe Gertie...or Ramona and Beezus. I don't know!!! Lol

$5 is is a good deal for sure. I'm sure much more $ was put into feeding them the last year. They are so cute! Definitely mixed breeds and look like silkie mixes to me, too.

I would think silkie mixes what color are the eggs. I think they look really pretty. Good price.

Actually I just went and gathered an egg (she laid it within the last hour) and it's a peachy color. A noticeable change from the one I got yesterday evening. I don't know who laid what yet. But the smaller hen likes to just hang out in the box. I don't know if she is in there getting ready to lay (how long does it usually take?) or if she's broody. Yesterday I shooed her out of the box and there was an egg....she seemed content to just sit there until I forced her out.
