So these are the last three chicks that have Roo potential out of our new flock…the eleven weekers we have determined are all pullets…these three are 8 weekers and the only two who we think MAY have Roo potential due to the comb are the Lavender Orp and the Buff Silky. We actually WANT a rooster and want to bring one into our flock sooner rather than later but don’t want get one if one of these chicks ends up being a dude😕

Thoughts???

Thanks in advance!🐓

Yes, agree! We have an 11 wk Buff and this 8 week Lavender and both are the most tame of our flock, although the lavender is a bit more skittish I believe bc she’s been raised with the two silkies who are, well…silkie🤪
Im look forward how they are once they are full adult! 😳 i always wanted silkie but i’m not ready yet. 😂 because i have other favorite chicken, mottled houdan

Updated photos now at 12 weeks…thinking the buff is a cockerel with that red comb and waddels but now also wondering about the blue one…her comb is dark but it’s getting big…I’ve only had one other silky before and she was white with a teeny tiny pea comb…don’t mind what they are, they are attached at the hip and I will keep them both regardless, but I want to add a rooster to my flock if neither of these are Roos and the sooner the better🐓
