Silkie roo can't walk - necropsy results

Cindy, amazing, it seems to be more common than I thought. I am sad but glad that I had the autopsy done, it's important to do it if you can.

True..so far 174 sentinel chickens in 33 counties in Fl have tested positive this year, and thats not counting the ones that haven't been diagnosed. Is EEE a reportable disease in the state of Florida?

Littleee, the symptoms of both are very similar since they both can effect the nervous system. Mr. Brown was the first person I contacted, and he said it sounded like Marek's (without seeing the bird). Mr. Brown is not a doctor, he's a real nice person who has lots of knowledge about chickens and has a poultry supply website. My vet does treat birds, and I trust his judgement. And there was another chicken who died the beginning of November of Equine Encephalitis within 10 miles of where I live. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

I'm thinking it's reportable. I think I may be vaccinating my chickens for it. I read that you can take 1/10 of the equine dose per chicken.
Pine Grove, that's some important info you have there. Thanks!!!!!
