I am new to chicken keeping. We bought a silkie with the rest of our flock, and I believe she is actually a he. He has not started crowing, but it showing all the characteristics and appearance of a silkie rooster. I am not allowed to have roosters, I would like to rehome him before it causes issues with my neighbors. I am located in AUSTIN TEXAS/ROUND ROCK area. Willing to travel a few hours if I know he is going to a good home...

Mine don't have any comb development. Crest poof looks the same. Going to check tail feathers now. 🥺
At about 12 weeks I noticed the small streamer feathers coming out the back of the crest and his comb got bigger (the walnut looking comb) so I had a strong feeling it was a male before I even got the test back.

How funny, because i will probably get results back on week 11 or 12! So far no comb or streamers. Today i was looking at their tail feathers... now i think i might have 2 boys instead of just 1. I dont think ill get silkies again, unless there's some way to get them sex linked. I have a couple D'Uccles that are female and super sweet, so at least we will still have some to keep.
